Tangyoon

Hey Maplers! Ready to put on your chef’s hat and dive into a truly unique Party Quest? Today, we’re talking about Tangyoon’s Cooking Class, a delightful and sometimes deliciously chaotic PQ that’s a staple in MapleStory, and it brings its unique flavor to MapleStory Universe.

What is Tangyoon's Cooking Class?

Tangyoon’s Cooking Class isn’t your average monster-slaying Party Quest. Instead of clearing maps of mobs, you’re helping the eccentric chef Tangyoon prepare a gourmet dish! This PQ is designed for players roughly Level 60 to 90, making it a fantastic way to gain experience and participate in collaborative content during your mid-game journey.

You can team up with a party of up to three players, but fear not, solo adventurers! Tangyoon’s can also be tackled alone, offering a different kind of challenge and a test of your efficiency.

The Recipe for Success: How to Play

The core gameplay revolves around cooking a specific dish, which requires five different ingredients. Each ingredient corresponds to a specific monster type you’ll need to “collect” in Tangyoon’s giant cooking pot.

Receive Your Dish & Ingredient Selection Rounds

Tangyoon will give you a random recipe to cook. Pay attention to the ingredients needed!

For each of the five ingredients, you’ll enter a stage where various monsters appear. Your task is to select the correct monster to be chopped up and turned into the ingredient for the dish. Choose wisely, because picking the wrong one might make the pot “smell funny!”

Clear the Chopping Board

Once you’ve selected the ingredient, a wave of monsters will spawn on the “chopping board.” You need to eliminate all of them to proceed to the next ingredient selection. This requires efficient mobbing and sometimes a bit of waiting for all the monsters to appear.

Handle the Heat

After clearing the chopping board, one party member must defeat the Fire Monster that appears. This is a crucial step to control the heat and ensure the cooking process goes smoothly!

Add the Salt

After all five ingredients are collected and the monsters are cleared, you’ll be prompted to add salt. If you get the salt dosage right, you can even receive a temporary stat buff!

The Final Feast (or Failure)

Successfully completing all steps leads to a “great dish” and significant rewards. A “failed” dish (due to wrong ingredients or not clearing monsters) will result in fewer rewards.
