[NORMAL] Zakum

If you’ve conquered Easy Zakum and are looking for a more significant test of your power, Normal Zakum in MapleStory Universe is your next target! This mode offers a more challenging experience with tougher patterns and stronger attacks, requiring better preparation and strategic gameplay. It’s the perfect bridge before you dive into the even more demanding Chaos Zakum.

How to Prepare and Enter Normal Zakum

Normal Zakum demands a bit more from your character and your party.

  • Level Requirement: You need to be Level 90 or higher to challenge Normal Zakum.

  • Entry Method:

    1. Just like Easy Zakum, press F1 and navigate to CONTENTS GUIDE – Boss Content – Normal Zakum, or press F2 – Boss – Zakum Normal to teleport.

    2. Eye of Fire: You’ll still need an ‘Eye of Fire’ to summon Zakum. Obtain this from NPC Adobis at the Zakum entrance.

    3. Offer at the Altar: Drop the ‘Eye of Fire’ on Zakum’s altar to summon Normal Zakum.

  • Entry Count: Normal Zakum shares its daily entry limit with Easy Zakum. You can enter Zakum’s Altar once per day across both Easy and Normal modes. Remember, Chaos Zakum has its own weekly entry allowance.

Normal Zakum Battle Strategy: What to Expect

Normal Zakum features increased HP, stronger attacks, and more frequent use of dangerous patterns compared to Easy mode. Team play is highly recommended for a smoother clear.

  • Focus on the Body: Similar to Easy mode, your primary target is Zakum’s main body. There’s no need to destroy the arms separately; damaging the body will progress the fight.

  • Intensified Platform Phase: As you deal damage, Zakum will frequently cause fire to appear on the floor, prompting platforms to rise. It’s crucial to quickly climb onto these platforms to avoid continuous damage from the flaming ground.

  • Increased Monster Threat: Zakum will frequently summon 10 monsters. These monsters are stronger than in Easy mode. If you fail to defeat them all, Zakum will remain in a static state and unleash an explosion dealing 99% of your maximum HP as damage. Prioritize eliminating these summoned mobs to prevent devastating party-wide damage.

  • Body Slam/Jump: Zakum may jump and slam down, causing high damage to players on the ground. Move into the green cubes that appear on the ground to avoid taking damage.

Defeating Normal Zakum in MapleStory Universe gives you a better chance at winning valuable items through the raffle system, along with a substantial experience boost!
